A Kindred Spirit
I've become incredibly frustrated with the waiting, but even more so with the absolute lack of any form of updates, information or customer communication to give us an idea as to the progress of Automation.
The silence is deafening and speaks volumes as to the apparent attitude of 4PSA towards its paying customers. If I remember rightly, being left in the dark usually ends up with us being fed bulls**t and that equates to being treated like a bunch of fungus in the dirt.
I'm only small-fry customer, but having bought an unlimited VoipNow license, a White Box license, a SIP trunking add-on, and an HA installation .. I figure by spending more than $2000USD in my first year with 4PSA, plus the countless painful hours spent getting the freaking HA installation to work as they promised it would, I reckon deserves better treatment than this.
I've looked at a wide range of alternative solutions that offer e-commerce etc, but their cost is phenomenally prohibitive compared to the end product that VoipNow delivers. So, I keep coming back to the same answer, and that is to stick with VoipNow and wait patiently.
But it's the waiting, coupled with the cost of other solutions being out of my reach, that leaves me feeling like a hostage to 4PSA and their ever-shifting timetable for Automation's release. And I don't think that's alright.
And I'll tell you one other thing for nothing ... how many of us are honestly going to be able to afford and even need to get into VoipNow Core? But it's been moved up the priority chain because it has the promise of big money delivery to 4PSA, while Automation seems to have become an afterthough now, and appears to have been pushed to the bottom of the list.
Frankly, I was fuming when I saw that VoipNow Core had been released, and still there's no word on Automation, even though it's being promoted all over the website as though it's available now. One little "beta" banner across the top of the logo doesn't mean that promoting the hell out of it as though it's ready isn't false and misleading advertising!
But amazingly, if you go to look at the online demo of Automation, it's hardly ever working! 4PSA are getting the same "wrong version of PHP errors" that our "trial" experienced. Meaning only those with strong code abilities were able to get it to work. And that was, what, maybe three people? So I figure if 4PSA can't get it working on their own servers, what hope do we have of seeing a stable product this year, or perhaps even in our lifetimes?
Elena from Sales tells me that an RC of Automation is expected this month, but we've heard so many promises of delivery dates, that I just don't believe her or anyone from 4PSA anymore.
My honest opinion? I reckon we'll be lucky to see it inside another six months. And if that's the case, I'll be glad to have it, but I'm also going to be royally pi**ed!
